Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry said that bilateral trade between Egypt and Germany reached EUR 5.56 billion ($5.89 billion) in 2016, increasing by 10% compared to its level in the year before.
Minister Tarek Kabil added in a statement on Wednesday that German investments in Egypt amounted to $619.2 million until last January, in sectors such as chemicals, automobiles, telecom, iron and steel, and others.
Egyptian investments in Germany reached $46.1 million in the sectors of banks, tourism, pharmaceuticals, and consulting services.
Last year, Egyptian exports increased to $20.285 billion, up from $18.670 billion in the previous year.
